It's the Shoreline, 1996
Here's one from the collection of Chicago artist Shane Swank. It should be familiar-- there are a boatload of these around. He thinks he got it in trade for another piece while he ran Poop Studios in the Flat Iron Building in Chicago. CopyMax, a favorite Wesley hangout, was in this building as well.
It seems that around this time Wesley started doing drawings from memory, and this was a favorite subject. Up to this time, his drawings seem to have all been done in the open air, right in front of the subject.
The drawing that I got from Westley is also called "It's the shoreline" and looks almost exactly like the one pictured. Westly signed and dated the one I have in the center of the drawing. Was this a common thing? God Bless WW

Yes, "It's the shoreline" was a very common drawing for Wesley, especially after 1996.

hey, I think Wesley Willis is one of the greatest acts ever. I love all his material because it cracks me up and paints a very explicit picture of the world. I heard that he died. I think that sucks. I love the artwork he's done. I would love to buy a drawing of his. PLEASE email me with any information. I am willing to pay a modest price for some of his ORIGINAL stuff. LATER!
